Monthly Roundup -Wavensmere Homes
Wavensmere Homes has seen a busy September. Here’s our monthly roundup.
It’s the start of a new month today which gives the opportunity to reflect on the previous 30 days and provide a monthly roundup. September was a busy month for Wavensmere Homes for many reasons including welcoming a new starter and reaching huge milestones on our sites.
Take a read of what we’ve been up to…
The Forge, Digbeth
Our 140 apartment development, The Forge, welcomed its first occupants in Phase One this month. We thrive on welcoming new home owners into our developments. It’s why we’re in the business and it will always be a favourite milestone. Phase Two and Three also remain on time and on budget, with Wavensmere Homes forecasted to hand over the entire development by the end of the year. The Forge has been a special development by contributing to the regeneration of Digbeth. Birmingham is thriving at the moment with an economic growth rate of 13.5% in the last 5 years – read more about The Forge here.
Crocketts Lane, Smethwick
The adopted road on the Crocketts Lane development was put on maintenance last month, meaning the main road was handed to the local council for approval. Once this has been passed it means all work to the site are concluded. Another great milestone that’s been reached. Read more about Crocketts Lane here.
Nightingale Quarter, Derby
Nightingale Quarter is our biggest development yet. September saw monumentous progress on site to the iconic Pepper-Pot buildings and Phase One. Midland Masonry did a fantastic job cleaning and renovating one of the Pepper-Pot buildings, which dates back to 1890 – see a picture below. The remedial stage has now started with the brick and stone façades. We’re so proud to have our name on this project, which is one of the largest city centre regeneration sites in the country.
Other progress includes the completion of roofs on plots 1-5, up to wall plates on plots 6-9 and joists are in on plots 10-18. See the images below. Windows are due to be installed tomorrow, Friday 2nd October, on plots 1-5. This week also saw the start of the tarmacking process which has completely transformed the site.
And in addition to this, Phase One drainage is also complete. Meaning September has seen four fantastic milestones on this regeneration site. As it stands, we have just one house left remaining on Phase One. A superb end to a month.
